Spectrum of the Month
October 1997

Phase sensitive HETCOR experiment
of atactic (-O-CH(CH3)-CH2-)n, Polypropylene oxide.

The phase-sensitive HETCOR spectrum has peaks that are narrower than the "standard" absolute-value spectrum; this results in greater resolution between peaks. In this particular spectrum, the peaks lie within 0.15 ppm in the 13C dimension, and only 0.03 ppm in the 1H dimension, requiring as much resolution as possible!

While phase-sensitive experiments require more steps to process, the NMR Facility staff is available to help users with processing these types of spectra.
