The Indiana University Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) facility provides access to state-of-the-art instrumentation and expertise in solution NMR spectroscopy. The facility has six high resolution NMR spectrometers from 400 MHz to 800 MHz to perform all modern solution-state experiments for structural elucidation, molecular dynamics and reaction kinetic study of small molecules and large biological molecules in solution. The facility also has an EPR spectrometer.
Chemistry NMR Laboratory – Room C237 in the Chemistry building features a Bruker 500 MHz Avance Neo, a Varian 500 MHz Inova, and a Varian 400 MHz Inova NMR spectrometers. Staff offices, user workstations, wet lab with hood, sample refrigerator, chemical cabinets and other resources are also located here. Room C234F hosts a Varian 600 MHz Inova NMR spectrometer.
MetaCyt BioNMR Laboratory – This lab located in Simon Hall 037 currently houses a Bruker 600 MHz Avance Neo NMR spectrometer and a new Bruker 800 MHz Avance Neo NMR spectrometer, which was installed in 2024 to replace a retired Varian 800 MHz VNMRS system. The lab has an 8′ deep pit design with stainless steel platform, climate control, oxygen sensor purge safety system and an enclosed room for water chillers and gas cylinders. A wet lab area is also available.
EPR Laboratory – Bruker EMX EPR spectrometer in Chemistry, Room A220.
