Charging rate for the 800 will increase from $6/hr to $8/hr, effective Jan. 1, 2014.
Gem300 to be retired at the end of 2013
Duo to high maintenance cost versus relatively low use, we will retire the Gem300 at the end of December, 2013. Please plan accordingly.
Mnova Q&A Session on Friday (9/13) 2pm
A Mestrenova specialist from Mestrelab will be visiting the NMR facility on September 13, Friday. We’ll have a Mnova questions and answers session from 2pm to 4pm in room C127. During this Q&A session, you can talk to the Mnova expert face-to-face and have your questions about Mnova answered by the expert. Don’t miss this great opportunity!
Using 3mm NMR tube
If you have a limited amount of sample, you can use 3mm NMR tubes to reduce solvent volume therefore to increase sample concentration (by a factor of 3). You can get 3mm NMR tubes from the Chemistry Storeroom. To use 3mm tubes with 5mm NMR probes equipped on our spectrometers, you’ll need to use a “3mm insert” for 5mm spinners. Ask the NMR staff for the insert.
Another option for a limited amount of sample is to use solvent susceptibility matched NMR tubes (e.g. Shigemi tubes), but they’re expensive.
Chemistry NMRs Unavailable 8/13 5:30am – 8am
Because the Chemistry lab compressed air system is shut down, I500, I400, and Gem300 will be unavailable August 13 from 5:30am to 8am. Vxr400 will be unavailable from August 12 6pm to August 13 9am.
Mnova 8.1.2 Available
We have upgraded our Mestrenova program to its latest version 8.1.2. To install the new version, go to ITG’s software page and click Install It. You will be given instructions and can download the software and license files from this point.
Check out the Mestrelab web site to see the new features of 8.1.2 . We also have access to the qNMR and Reaction Monitor plugins.
It you prefer to stay with old version, you will need to update your license file. You can obtain the new license file at the bottom of the Install it Page.
If you need help or have questions regarding the program installation, contact chemitg or submit a help request at http://itghelp.indiana.edu.
Chemistry NMRs unavailable June 1, 7am – 7pm
The spectrometers will be shut down, because both air conditioning and compressed air are off during this period of time.
EPR Is Back Up
EPR spectrometer is up running. The iris driver problem has been fixed.
EPR Is Down
EPR spectrometer is down. The iris driver does not function and needs to be repaired or replaced.
Email NMR data commands work on 300
Emai NMR data commands emaildata and vnmremail now also work on the Gem300. If you have any problem using them, contact Frank.
