2D NMR Training

We will be doing 2D NMR training in the next week:

  • August 13, Tuesday, 1:30 – 3:30pm;
  • August 14, Wednesday, 10am – 12noon;
  • August 15, Thursday, 10am – 12noon (cancelled);
  • August 15, Thursday, 1:30 – 3:30pm;
  • August 16, Friday, 1:30 – 3:30pm.

These will be single 2 hour sessions. The basic concepts of 2D NMR will be introduced and we’ll go through setup, acquisition, processing and plotting of the common 2D NMR 1H-1H and 1H-13C experiments including COSY, TOCSY, NOESY/ROESY, HMQC/HSQC and HMBC/CIGAR.

We’ll be at a spectrometer so the number of attendees in each session will be limited to 4. If you plan to attend, please sign up on the online sign-up sheet.

NUS Workshop June 25th 3-5pm

Non-uniform sampling (NUS) is a very powerful tool that significantly speeds up the acquisition of multidimensional data. Dr. Scott Robson from Prof. Gerhard Wagner’s lab at Harvard will be presenting on non-uniform sampling for NMR on June 25th 3-5pm in Simon Hall 030. Dr. Robson is one of the developers of the Poisson gap sampling and iterative soft thresholding reconstruction method. He will give 1-hour lecture on NUS theory followed by a 1-hour hands-on demonstration of data processing.

Mnova Seminar & User Training Course on June 12

There will be a Mnova software seminar given by Dr. Chen Peng and Mr. Leandro Gil-Silva of Mestrelab on June 12, Monday, in C127, followed by a Mnova user training course and a Q&A session.

1:30-2:30pm Seminar: Introduce Mnova software tools including both NMR and LC/GC-MS modules — for everyone who are interested.
2:30-3:30pm User training course: Teach how to use the Mnova software to process, analyze and publish NMR data — for current and new Mnova users.
3:30-4:30pm Q&A session: A great chance for you to ask the software developers questions, show them your problems, and share your experience. Remember to bring your computer with NMR data.

Users are encouraged to attend all or some of these sessions.

Update: The training course slides is now available for download from here.
