The I500 is turned ON for essential research activities.
I600 Available for Essential Research Use
The I600 has been turned ON and is available for use to support essential research activities approved by IU VPR office during the hibernation period.
NMR Facility Closed
The NMR facility is closed from March 27, Friday, 3pm until further notice.
MNova 14.1.1 Available
Mestrenova 14.1.1 is now available for download from the ITG web site . We recommend that every user upgrade to the latest version of Mnova and its plugins. Go to the ITG web site and follow the instructions there.
The new version works well with the new operating system of Mac computers.
NMRs Back Running After Power Outage
All NMR spectrometers are back running, including B600 and its cryoprobe. There were a few issues reported by users during the weekend. All of them have been fixed.
2D NMR Training
We will be doing 2D NMR training in the next week:
- August 13, Tuesday, 1:30 – 3:30pm;
- August 14, Wednesday, 10am – 12noon;
- August 15, Thursday, 10am – 12noon (cancelled);
- August 15, Thursday, 1:30 – 3:30pm;
- August 16, Friday, 1:30 – 3:30pm.
These will be single 2 hour sessions. The basic concepts of 2D NMR will be introduced and we’ll go through setup, acquisition, processing and plotting of the common 2D NMR 1H-1H and 1H-13C experiments including COSY, TOCSY, NOESY/ROESY, HMQC/HSQC and HMBC/CIGAR.
We’ll be at a spectrometer so the number of attendees in each session will be limited to 4. If you plan to attend, please sign up on the online sign-up sheet.
NUS Workshop June 25th 3-5pm
Non-uniform sampling (NUS) is a very powerful tool that significantly speeds up the acquisition of multidimensional data. Dr. Scott Robson from Prof. Gerhard Wagner’s lab at Harvard will be presenting on non-uniform sampling for NMR on June 25th 3-5pm in Simon Hall 030. Dr. Robson is one of the developers of the Poisson gap sampling and iterative soft thresholding reconstruction method. He will give 1-hour lecture on NUS theory followed by a 1-hour hands-on demonstration of data processing.
Chemistry NMRs Out of Service April 12, 5:30 – 9:30am
All NMR spectrometers in the chemistry building will be out of service Thursday, April 12, from 5:30am to 9:30am due to the building compressed air shutdown.
